EA and DICE got for the beta Battlefield 2042 a lot of praise, but also much criticism. The shooter could not convince technically on all platforms, and some features lacked fans of older parts of the series and also expected in BF 2042. According to the developer team, the Battlefield feeling should be even better in the final version. In a long blog post is explained which things were missing in the beta or underdeveloped. These include, among other things, the map and communication possibilities.
Battlefield 2042 should offer more features for the launch
Communication with team members: to communicate with each other, was only limited in the beta. The Commorose feature was missing completely, but will be included for the launch but as you can see in the video below. This quick menu gives you some options to the hand, to show other players inside where you are and what you need of them.
Here you see the commorosis feature in action:
The ping system was included in the beta, but only worked very hard. The developers want to make the function more accessible, so you can easily mark opponents, places and objects. This also includes that the compass is displayed when you target a firearm.
The map: In the beta to Battlefield 2042 it was not possible to show the entire card as many of other BF parts are used to. Especially with the massive maps of the latest offshoot, it is extremely important to get an overview of the different combat dots. This should also be possible in the final release.
Improved UI: In addition, the user interface is screwed. As that looks, this video shows:
And what about the load gene consoles? On the PS4 and the Xbox One, there were also technical problems in addition to the missing mechanics. The old consoles not only get smaller maps, but also a significantly slimmed optics . Since this point finds no mention, it will probably not change here until the launch.

Some of the above features were modified or added on the basis of the community feedback. However, in the post again emphasizes that the Battlefield 2042 beta was based on a month old build of the game and some functions were therefore not yet integrated. In order to guarantee the highest possible stability, unnecessary systems, content and mechanics have been removed from the beta.
Insider contradicts the devs: Leaker and Battlefield insider Tom Henderson does not buy EA the story of the months old beta version. He cites internal sources, according to which build was a maximum of a few weeks old . Allegedly, the Battlefield franchise is in an identity crisis and should be oriented too much to other shooters such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Apex Legends .
Battlefield 2042 will be released on 19 November 2021 for the PS5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One and the PC. The Early Access phase starts a week before, on November 12th.
