Steam locks games with crypto currency, but the second largest MMORPG is still there

Valve plans all games with cryptocurrency and NFTs from their Steam store to remove. Some titles have already disappeared, but the second largest MMORPG is still there.

This happened on Steam: The gaming platform Steam has changed its rules for Publishing of games recently. The change affects all games based on the block chain technology and NFTs (Non-Fungible token, via Wikipedia) and crypto-currency support.

With block chain technology and NFTs, content can create that can not be tampered with or forged. In MMORPG users can use block chain about activated abilities or items store.

The new rule has been added as the 13th spot in the list of games, not to be published on Steam . Games that offer that are now removed from the platform.

Among the games that are removed include the indie adventure game Age of Rust, which in 2022 should appear on Steam had. The developers have informed the lock in several tweets of their community and expressed their disappointment with the decision by Valve.

In the tweets, the developers said they NFTs the opposite Valve had respect always transparent in their communication. They are now looking for a new platform for their game because they are of the opinion that block Chain games the future of

The second largest MMORPG none on Steam, knows how much longer

This MMORPG is still there: It seems currently that not all games with crypto currencies and NFTs from the store have been removed. To the remaining games counts as the big MMORPG MIR4 that until recently the MMORPG with the most players on Steam was (as of October 16, 2021 at 12 o clock).

While it was by New World dethroned occupied factually but with an average of 34,415 players in the last 30 days continue to 2nd place before Final Fantasy XIV. The problem with MIR4 however, is that the game itself comes just as more than 50% positive reviews (via Steam) ,

In the reviews, players complain of monotonous gameplay, bots and hackers as well as strong monetization via the in-game shop. For that earning money is praised on the cryptocurrency, which is also the main reason for the surprisingly high number of players will be with bad reviews.

Yet MIR4 remains on Steam. The red notice is that the game has been removed from the store such as in Age of Rust missing here. Whether this will continue under the new rules from Steam for a long time, but doubtful.

Epic is the Games welcome

That says Tim Sweeney: After the news was announced on the closing of the games with crypto currencies and NTFs on Steam, the CEO of Epic Games announced on the subject. In a tweet, he wrote that games, use the block chain technology, are welcome at Epic Game Store, provided they comply with all relevant laws [...] .

The games must have the relevant information, according to Sweeney in their Terms of Service and have the appropriate age level. He added at the end, adding that Epic itself does not use crypto currencies in their games, but they are called innovation in fields of technology and finance welcome.

Sweeney s reaction is not surprising. The Epic Game Story is in direct competition with Steam and wrote it from the start to the flag to be the developers towards more equitable. About by requiring only 12% of sales as a fee, rather than the 30% of Steam.

Epic has therefore been repeatedly secured exclusive rights to several great games that should bring them new customers and advantages over Steam. These include Metro: Exodus or time exclusivity of Red Dead Redemption. 2

It is not excluded that after the lock on Steam, developers of banned games with Epic find a new home.

The Director of the Astral Chain shares the fact that the game has sold

The creation of a new intellectual property has become a rarity these days. Many things we consume in the media are either a remake or the continuation of a pre-existing property that we all know. It seems that the original and fresh ideas can no longer thrive in the current market, regardless of the media. There are, however, exceptions. Sometimes a new IP address will appear from nowhere and will surprise everyone. Nintendo publishes a new IP on their consoles for some time now, releasing several new games that were not a suite or remake of a pre-existing property. They come out of these new IPs in tangent with their usual Mario and Zelda games, having a reasonable balance between the old and the new in their exit schedule. Platoon was a whole new game released on the Wii U in 2015 and ended up being a great success for Nintendo. They will later attempt to reproduce this success by publishing other new properties on the switch, such as bras and chase astral. We were really impre...
